An annotated bibliography is a list of citations on a related topic with a description (annotation) of each source on the list.

It can be part of a larger research project, or can be a stand-alone report in itself. There are different types of annotations (e.g. summary, evaluative, etc.). Make a note of which type of annotation your instructor is looking for before you start your assignment.
