How can I use Google Scholar to find articles available at my college's library?

You can set up Google Scholar to easily check if articles you find are also in one of our databases. This feature of Google Scholar is called Library Links. Currently, Google Scholar Library Links cover only journal articles. Books are not yet covered by Library Links despite them showing up in Google Scholar.

Setting up Google Scholar Visit Google Scholar.

  1. Open Scholar's Settings menu (click the three lines at the top left of the Google Scholar home page, then click either Settings or the gear icon).

  2. Click Library Links.
  3. Type the name of your college's library into the search box and press enter. You may need to try the name of your school or the name of the library depending on your school. You may find multiple results, so you may want to check with your library you have the correct one.Arrow pointing from the library links tab to the box where you enter the words Seneca Libraries.
  4. Check off your appropriate library and select Save.
  5. You'll now have Library Links activated in Google Scholar, which will look something like this when you search:Google Scholar search showing the View It link
